Despite school being in session for only two weeks, several McCook Elementary students managed to earn five points in the Accelerated Reader program. In the program, students read books and are tested on their comprehension, then are awarded points based on the grade level of the book. Students who earned more than 10 points were Avery Broomfield (12.3 points) and Evan Humphrey (17.9 points) for the month of August. Students who have earned points include, first row from left, Jessica Pochop, Brighton Walkington-Foley and Abigail Bone; second row, Mya Powers, Abbie Johnson, Brett Fraker, Keira Nelson, and Colby Evans; third row, Hayden Norgaard, Cole Lentz, Evan Humphrey, Tori Honn, Avery Broomfield and Brittni Kinne; back row, Tucker Martinez-Conroy, Gracelyn Wiemers and Garrett Kaps.
