H Street project enters final phase

Tuesday, July 9, 2013

McCOOK, Nebraska -- The East H Street road improvement project will transition into its third and final phase either today or Wednesday, according to the contractor. The transition will reopen East H Street from East Sixth Street to the east side of the west entrance into Oakview Apartments.

During phase three East H Street will be closed from the west edge of the east entrance into Oakview Apartments to Airport Road. East 11th Street will remain open at all times during the project.

Individuals needing access to the main entrances to Community Hospital and McCook Clinic will be able to turn east from East 11th Street onto East F Street and then turn north onto East 14th Street. A temporary crossing will be built across East H Street at East 14th Street, to offer access to the hospital and clinic parking lot.

Access to the emergency room will be available by heading north on East 11th Street and then turning east onto East J Street.

The crossing at East 14th Street and H Street will need to be closed for a period of time during the paving.

In a press release, the city apologized for any inconvenience the street closure may create.
