Area players prep for North Platte all-star basketball games

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- Several Gazette area players will test their basketball skills in the annual Mid-Plains Area All-Star Games Friday, June 7.

The girls and boys all-star contests will be held June 7, at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium on the North Platte Community College campus on the south side of North Platte.

The girls game is set to tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys game at approximately 7:45 p.m.

McCook will have several representatives participating Friday night. Rachel Goltl and Brooklynn Trew will play in the girls game, while Cody Wudtke will represent the Bison in the boys contest.

Other Gazette area participants in the girls game includes Kate Kelly of Southwest, Allyson Cole of Hitchcock County and Emma Skelton of Wauneta-Palisade

Other Gazette area players in the boys all-star game include Spencer Kucera and Dakota Best of Southern Valley, Wyatt Anderson, Gage Schutz and Isaac Watson of Arapahoe, Zane Peterson of Cambridge, Lucas Gleisberg of Medicine Valley and Joseph Rettele of Dundy County-Stratton.

Arapahoe boys head coach Bob Braithwait will also coach in the boys all-star game.
