Prairie Land Food deadline Monday

Friday, May 3, 2013

McCOOK, Nebraska -- The school year is nearly over, which often means spending more time outdoors. Prairie Land Food can help provide more time to spend outdoors, by offering quick, easy-to-fix meals at a discount.

Prairie Land Food offers all families, regardless of income, a variety of nutritious grocery packages to fit any size of family or budget. Larger orders from groups or organizations are also welcome.

The program's goal is to help families reduce their food expenses, while encouraging them to give back to their communities through a few hours of volunteer service.

May 6 is the deadline for ordering this month. There is no limit to the number of items purchased. Orders can be placed at a local site using cash, check, or EBT/food stamps. Online orders at june@prairielandfood.com can be paid for with credit card, debit card, bank draft, or food stamps. This is a secure website.

Food will be available for pickup at the McCook YMCA on Saturday, May 18, from 7 to 8 a.m.

The Center is located at 1010 East 6th Street; the phone number is (308) 345-2609.

Orders may also be placed through Darlene Leahy at (308) 334-5353 in Trenton and Gary Scott at (308) 350-3923 in Indianola.
