Riley Rambali, right, maneuvers a wheelbarrow full of sand, while Bryn Carriker and Colton Molcyk below, shovel sand from a pick up into wheelbarrows, at the Hillcrest Nursing Home daycare center Sunday. The McCook Evangelical Free Church youth mission team filled sandboxes for 10 families and the daycare at Hillcrest, hauling approximately 100-plus wheelbarrows full of sand. Proceeds from the sandbox filling will go toward supplies the youth need to build a house in Tijuana, Mexico and for food they will distribute at a nursing home, battered women's shelter and orphanage. Teens will also volunteer at the Mission Rescue center in Los Angeles, California. The team will be guided by the Table in the Wilderness organization from Wyoming. The mission trip is scheduled to take place from May 18-31. The sand was donated by Gerhold Concrete Co. (Lorri Sughroue/McCook Daily Gazette)
