Girls State delegates

CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Breanna Eubanks and Kadee Long have been selected to represent Cambridge at the 2013 Cornhusker Girls State, which will be on the University-Lincoln City Campus on June 2-8. Brianna Nawara has been selected as an alternate. The girls are sponsored by the Cambridge Legion Auxiliary Unit 199 and the Alpha Omicron Chapter ofEpsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.

Breanna, daughter of Kelli and Chuck Eubanks, is a junior at Cambridge High School, a member and officer of FBLA, Student Council and Junior Class President. She has been active in volleyball, basketball, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Swing Choir, Musical, One-act plays and Chemistry Ag Club. Breanna is on the DistinctiveHonor Roll and received an Academic All State Honor. She is a. member of the United Methodist Church and is the Youth Treasurer. She works at Amateur's Bar 'N Grill, volunteers with Special Olymics and is a Student Representitive on the Cambridge School Foundation.

Kadee, daughter of Sharla and Geoff Long, is a junior at Cambridge High School, a member and officer of Chem-Ag Club, Yearbook and class Treasurer. She had been active in volleyball, basketball, track, FCA , C-Club, Band, Speech and Publications. Kadee is a letter winner in basketball and volleyball. She has received All-State Honorable Mention (volleyball) and All District Honorable Mention (volleyball) awards. She has volunteered at Trash Pick-up and works at Amateur's Bar 'N Grill and the swimming pool.

Eubanks

Brianna, granddaughter of Mike and Aleta Cadena, is a junior at Cambridge High School and active in One Act Plays, Musical, Band, Pep Band, Choir, Basketball, FCCLA and Art Club. She is very active at the Calvary Baptist Church: Good News Club, Christmas Program and Bake Sale. She helps with Bingo at the nursing home and is on a bowling league team.

Girls State is a nationwide program sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. Each year more than 400 junior girls from throughout Nebraska are offered an opportunity to be active participants in structured role-playing that emphasizes our democratic form of government.
