Red Willow Western Rural firefighters fill up their trucks, above, after responding to a grass fire on the Hitchcock/Red Willow County line, west of McCook Wednesday along with Culbertson Fire Department. This is the second grass fire this week, as the Red Willow Western put out two grass fires on Tuesday afternoon just East of Perry Grain and a car fire on Monday. Burnt leaves, grass and tree limbs, right, is a reminder of how quickly the spring fire season is starting. With conditions drying out quickly and spring projects coming on, the department is issuing a burn ban, until sufficient moisture is received.
