Costs, college clubs on agenda for Mid-Plains governors

NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska -- Setting tuition, fees, room and board are among the action items for a meeting of the Mid Plains Community College board of governors.

A work session is set for 4 p.m. Wednesday, followed by the regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. in Room 200 at the W.W. Wood Building on the north campus of North Platte Community College.

Other items on the agenda include the first reading of a policy concerning tuition waivers, reroofing of all shingled properties, consideration of a proposed STEM -- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Club and a Gay Straight Alliance club.

The board will also enter executive session to discuss personnel and litigation.

The board plans to receive future reports on a 3-year Technology and Equipment Plan for Programs in March, Capital and Capital Improvement/ADA/Hazmat Disposal Plans in March, quarterly financial reports in April, July, October and January, building construction, electrical technology and transfer degrees in June, follow-up reports for program reviews on dental assisting, graphic design and HVAC in June 20-13-16; a Fire Science update in July, a CFE Annual Report in October, the auditor's annual report in November and enrollment reports in February and October.
