John Clapp blasts snow over the top of his pampas grass and his garage on a McCook, Nebraska, side street early this morning. Red Willow County commissioner and grader operator Earl McNutt cleared eight to 10 inches of snow from the parking lot north of the courthouse on Norris Avenue about 7 a.m. McNutt said the road crews were heading out about the same time to work on county roads. "Oh, there's probably 10 to 12 inches, but no major drifts anyway," McNutt said. Schools were canceled and many businesses and other facilities were closed because of the heavy snow.

Don't hurt yourself scooping snow!
