Popcorn and tutus

Monday, February 4, 2013

Two-year-old Adreanna Moberly of St. Francis, Kansas, drains her sippy-cup as she pauses in her mother's "Girlie Girls TuTus" booth during the McCook, Nebraska, Area Chamber of Commerce's 23rd annual "Home & Leisure Show" Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the gym at the new McCook Community College Events Center. Checking out seating appropriate for watching football and eating popcorn in the VK Electronics booth was 5-year-old Julee Thomas of McCook. In her "Scentsy" booth and wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with "Practice Safe Scents," Melissa Sitzman of McCook sold flameless, wickless scented candles. Winners of the Chamber's $250 certificates (to be spent with home show vendors) are Jamie Garner and Sandi Baxter, both of McCook. Winner of the round-trip airline ticket to Denver and back, courtesy of Great Lakes Aviation, is Mike Kotschwar, also of McCook. Chamber director Tacie Fawver reported just more than 1,300 visitors to the home show.
