Nancy L. Norman

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Nancy Lee (White) Norman, 78, of McCook, Nebraska, passed away Jan. 28, 2013, at Hillcrest Nursing Home after a 19-year battle with Parkinson's disease.

Nancy was born March 3, 1934, to E. Earl and Laura (Howard) White in Atwood, Kansas. She grew up in the Atwood and Denver, Colorado area, graduating from Atwood High School. On Dec. 7, 1951, she married Adren V. Norman in Atwood, Kansas, and to this union three children were born. Nancy and Arden lived in Atwood until 1961, before moving to McCook, Nebraska. Nancy was a homemaker and a customer service representative at Northwestern Bell Company for 22 years.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Virgil and Myrth Norman; sister, Earlene Walkup and brother-in-law, Gayle Norman.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Arden of McCook; two sons, Chuck Norman and wife, Debra of Kearney, Nebraska and Bill Norman and wife, Leah of Oxford, Nebraska; one daughter, Tami and husband, Paul Teel of McCook; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and her extended grandchildren (friends of all her grandchildren).

Nancy loved attending and was the biggest cheerleader for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's sporting events. She was a wonderful cook and an immaculate homemaker. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. She also treasured her special trips to Black Hawk.

There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to be left in her name at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Home in McCook.

There will be a graveside memorial service on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Atwood Cemetary in Atwood, Kansas.

Herrmann-Jones Funeral home of McCook is in charge of arrangements.
