POWELL, Wyoming -- Beverly Beryl Bernatchy, 87, died Jan. 12, 2013 in Powel, one week before her 88th birthday.

Beverly was born Jan 19, 1925, in lndianaola, Nebraska, in Red Willow County, to Osma Paul Hatcher and May Morosic.

She graduated from Red Willow High School in 1942, and then went on to McCook Junior College in McCook, Nebraska. She graduated from there in 1944.

Beverly married Arnold E. Bernatchy in 1945, and the couple later divorced,

Through the years, Beverly lived in the Nebraska towns of Indianola, McCook, Imperial and Ogallala. In Wyoming, she lived in Casper and Powell.

From 1944-45, she worked as file clerk, civil service, at McCook Air Base and as a stenographer at McCook Housing. She then worked as a bookkeeper for Littleton Cleaners in Littleton, New Hampshire, from 1947-51.

From 1951-62, she farmed in Indianola, then returned to her bookkeeping career for R.E. Phillips Company in McCook in 1962. This consisted of McCook Sheet Metal, McCook Sand and Gravel and McCook Hollostone, She stayed there through 1969.

Beverly also worked as a bookkeeper at Haggard and Sargent Drilling Co., in Imperial, Nebraska (from 1969-74), at Imperial Irrigation in Imperial (1974-77); and at American Drilling in Wheatland (from 1977-78).

In 1978, Beverly started working as a secretary/bookkeeper for the Eastern Wyoming Area Agency on Aging in Casper. She retired from there in 1990.

Beverly was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW. She enjoyed music and the outdoors. Beverly had a special fondness for animals, especially dogs.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; son, Craig F. Bernatchy; and brothers-in-law, Don Nelms and Clarence Hotze.

She is survived by her son Arnold (Teri) Bernatchy of Butte, Montona; Cynthia Stewart of Powell; sisters, Shirley Nelms of McCook, Nebraska and Helen Hotze of Denver, Colorado: four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside services are scheduled for April 6 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook, Nebraska.
