McCook National Bank representative, Shelby Haag, left, is pictured presenting Bryn Carriker, a junior at McCook High School, with the "MNB Student of the Month Award" for the 2012-13 school year. She was nominated by guidance counselor, Fred Gleason. Bryn maintains a 4.0 GPA and is involved in cross country, swimming and track, as well as National Honor Society, Math Club, yearbook and various community organizations. The "MNB Student of the Month Award" is designed to recognize one area student, every month from September through April, for their accomplishments and hard work. Academics, extracurricular school activities, as well as other community activities are all factors in determining a winner. The award is open to area juniors and nominations for the award must be submitted by area teachers, guidance counselors, or administrative staff of the student's school to be considered. As seniors, those eight individual monthly winners will be eligible to apply for one of two $500 tuition scholarships. MNB will host a reception for the eight monthly winners.
