Resident assistant

HASTINGS, Nebraska -- Eight new resident assistants have been hired for the 2013 spring semester at Central Community College-Hastings. An alternate resident assistant also was selected.

Resident Life Director Cindy Foxhoven said that resident assistants are student leaders who help the housing coordinator with the operation of the campus' dorms. They include Kayla Banzhaf, of Cambridge, a human services major, is a 2012 graduate of Cambridge High School. She is the daughter of LaVern and Rhonda Banzhaf.


Central Community College honors

GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska -- Central Community College has announced the names of full-time students who earned spots on the President's and Dean's honor lists for the 2012 fall semester.

The students were enrolled at one or more CCC locations, which include the Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings campuses; Holdrege, Kearney and Lexington centers; and learning centers in about 60 central Nebraska towns.

Students on the President's Honor List earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average while students on the Dean's Honor List earned a GPA between 3.5 and 3.99.

Kansas State honors

MANHATTAN -- The fall 2012 semester was an outstanding one for more than 3,300 Kansas State University students who earned semester honors for their academic performance.

Students with at least 12 graded hours whose grade point average for the semester is 3.75 or above receive semester honors. They also earn commendations from their deans and the honors are recorded on their permanent academic records.

SCC releases Dean's List

Southeast Community College in Nebraska has released its Dean's List for the quarter recently completed on the Beatrice, Lincoln and Milford campuses.

To be recognized on SCC's Dean's List, a student must complete at least six quarter credit hours of the term with a minimum grade-point average of 3.5. Classes with a grade of "P" (Pass) do not count toward the six-hour minimum.

NPCC athletes achieve success in the classroom

NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska -- The North Platte Community College Knights basketball team and Lady Knights volleyball, basketball and softball teams all had a successful fall semester on and off the field. Overall, there were nine students on the President's List (maintain an overall 3.9 or greater GPA) and 15 students on the Dean's List (maintain an overall 3.5-3.89 GPA).

The Lady Knights softball team has nine students represented with Tiffany Brasby of North Platte, Sally Homan of Lexington and Kaitlin Borm of Cheyenne, Wyo. making the President's list and Ashley Campbell of Julesburg, Colo., Delaney Furnish and Morgan Booth of Kersey, Colo., Soliel Atenza of Lomita, Calif., Kimberley Silva of Plumas Lake, Calif. and Katharine Savolt of Yuma, Colo. making the Dean's List.

The Lady Knights volleyball team had eight students represented with Maggie Burke of Brady, Sandrina Hallahan of Brush, Colo., Jacee Kershaw of Culberston, and Shannon Liewer of Imperial making the President's list and Jaecee Barta of Big Springs, Laura Beckman of Julesburg, Colo., Nicole Houston of Mitchell and Whitney Smith of Wallace making the Dean's List.

The Lady Knights basketball team had four students represented with Jordan Dickerson of Westminster, Colo. making the President's List and Tracy Dahlke of Ord, Jasmine Smith of Sour Lake, Texas and Ashly Duin of Alberta, Calgary, Canada making the Dean's List

The Knights basketball team had three students represented with Benjamin Wilson of Bardon, Queensland making the President's list and Marcus Linson of Hoover, Ala. and Matthew Strybos of Ommaney, Brisbane making the Dean's List.
