The banquet will be Saturday, Jan. 19, at McCook's Memorial Auditorium. Social hour starts at 6 p.m., with dinner at 6:45 p.m. Tickets need to be purchased for $35 per person by Wednesday at the chamber office.
The theme for 88th annual banquet is "That's Entertainment," and keeping with that theme, the chamber has hired a comedian for the amusement of the audience.
David Ferrell has performed for numerous Fortune 500 companies such as Proctor and Gamble, IBM, and The Gap. In addition to tales about everyday life, David delights his audiences with hilarious impressions of famous cartoon characters, farm animals, Simon Cowell, Darth Vader, and many more. He has been three-times nominated for Inspirational Comedian of the Year by ICM Awards, and has been named one of five "Hot Acts in America" by Event Solutions Magazine.
In addition, one lucky winner who attends the banquet will receive a trip for two to Las Vegas. The trip includes round-trip airfare from Denver and two nights at Harrah's. Everyone who attends will be able to put his or her ticket into the drawing for the trip.
The chamber will also present the 2012 Community Builder Award, Community Service Award, Ag Builder Award, and the Chamber Volunteer of the Year to very deserving recipients
Chamber Director Tacie Fawver said that the board and the banquet planning committee wanted the occasion to be an appreciation event for all chamber members and their guests, and they are hoping that the addition of entertainment and the drawing will create new excitement.
The chamber is also excited about the new venue for the annual Home and Leisure Show, which is Feb. 1-3 at the McCook Community College Events Center. The deadline for securing a booth is Jan. 25.
The chamber also reminds members that if they pay their annual dues before Jan. 31, they receive a 5 percent discount.
