Christmas Day accident claims second victim

INDIANOLA, Nebraska -- A two-vehicle accident on Christmas Day has claimed a second life.

Leah Clair Sughroue, 77, of Indianola, Nebraska, died Tuesday from injuries sustained in the accident five miles east of Palisade, Nebraska. Her husband of 59 years, James Sughroue, 80, was killed on the scene.

According to reports, an eastbound pickup truck crossed the center line, slid on the ice and struck the westbound Sughroue truck at about 11:39 a.m. Dec. 25.
