Merry Christmas!

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

Merry Christmas! Christ is born! What a joyous time of year filled with fellowship and family. Let's rejoice and celebrate, Christ our Savior!

As I reflect on this past year, I am saddened by the economic struggle and environmental impacts of the drought, not only District 44 has faced but the country as a whole. There have been horrific events that have taken place in 2012 and many political struggles. Instead of focusing on all the bad, I am reminded of all the good and to trust in the Lord. It is He who fills us with hope, love and peace. Let us be prompted to take our eyes off all the evil and recall the promises of God. Let God's grace guide us and lead us through to a prosperous and a hopeful New Year.

I am excited for the 103rd Legislative Session to begin on Jan. 9, 2013. Throughout the years I have been blessed to have had success with several of my legislative bills and am looking forward to continuing that success this session. I would like to express my appreciation to all my constituents for their support and kindness over the years, it is all of you that make my job meaningful and productive. I hope that you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
