MHS Math Club members attend Math Day at UNL

MCCOOK,Nebraska -- Members of the McCook High School Mu Alpha Theta Math Club attended the 23rd annual UNL Math Day on Nov. 15. 1,400 students from more than 100 schools participated in the competition; all the students took a challenging math test, the winner of which received a $10,000 scholarship.

The Mu Alpha Theta members also participated in a math brain bowl competition against other Class B schools. HAL (High Ability Learners) paid for transportation and registration so that the MHS students could attend Math Day. Math Day was designed to promote mathematics, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and other mathletes.

The Mu Alpha Theta members had a good learning experience while having a great time.
