McCOOK, Nebraska -- The McCook Community College Choir under Director Tiffany Gapp will have its winter concert 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Tipton Hall Theater on campus.

Selections include; "All I Ask of You," "Footloose," "Rhythms of Life," "16 Tons," "Johnny B Goode," "Java Jive," "Gloria," "Sing Joy," and "I'll Be Seeing You," as well as Christmas selections.

MCC students are also using this venue to stage an "ugly sweater" contest.

Ugly sweaters have become the present-day standard for holiday gifts that are impractical, inappropriate or just downright ugly.

The contest gives students the opportunity to wear these sweaters in unity as a tribute to the spirit of giving. During the final holiday selection, the students will wear these sweaters with the audience getting the opportunity to vote for the ugliest sweater.

Also in an effort to promote the MCC Music Department the students are launching a facebook campaign and ask supporters to go the http://www.facebook.com/mccookccmusic page.

If the students receive 100 "likes" they will receive a pizza party.

Members of the McCook Community College Choir include: Barbara Leising, Sierra Meador, Rachel Bischoff, Amber Leising, Sierra Bustamante Carlos Dominguez, Desiree Washum, Joseph McCarty, David Sandman, Kelsey Collicott and Tiffany Anderson.
