IMPERIAL, Nebraska -- On Dec. 3, the Frenchman Valley Farmers Cooperative, Inc. (FVC) Board of Directors announced the promotion of Doug Ohlson to the position of General Manager of FVC.

In September, following 30 years of service to FVC, Jim Chism announced that he would be resigning as the General Manager as he had accepted the position of CEO at Farmers Cooperative Company in Ames, Iowa.

The FVC Board has always taken the matter of succession planning very seriously and had a management succession plan in place, naming Doug Ohlson Interim General Manager effective November 1, 2012. Following this plan the board accepted applications until November 30, 2012. After careful consideration, the board selected Doug Ohlson as the next General Manager of Frenchman Valley Coop.

Founded in 1912, FVC has 21 locations serving patrons in southwest Nebraska, northwest Kansas, the Nebraska Panhandle, northeast Colorado and Wyoming. FVC provides services in agronomy, feed, grain, member services, petroleum and grain procurement.
