Accidents
DEC. 29, 2012:
5:19 p.m., West J Street -- an SUV driven by Justin Joe Polfus, 22, Lincoln, Nebraska, struck the rear of vehicle driven by Emily Craw, 17, 5 Gemini Court, which subsequently struck the rear of a third vehicle driven by Jackie Grassia, 57, Bartley, Nebraska. The collision caused an estimated $5,000 in combined vehicle damage and Grassia complained of head, neck, chest and shoulder pain. Grassia denied transport and was encouraged by emergency responders to visit Urgent Care or the Community Hospital emergency room. Grassia's vehicle was stopped behind two other vehicles on West J Street, one of which was attempting to exit West J Street into an alley near the 200 block. Polfus indicated he was attempting to locate an item in his vehicle and noticed the stopped vehicles too late to avoid a collision.
