The Christmas in Culbertson celebration, at the Hitchcock County Fairgrounds and sponsored by the Culbertson Community Improvement Program, featured horse-drawn wagon rides by John Miller and his Belgian horses, vendors and crafts, food, contests for Christmas wreaths and Leggo creations and even a visit from Santa. There was a great turn-out for the event, said Cherri Cooper of the Culbertson CIP. Cooper presented a gift card to Sabrinia Lewis, right, who won the Leggo contest with her depiction of a Christmas scene at home. The CIP is especially excited about the new coffeeshop set to open by January, "The Hillside Perk." The unique-shaped building, a former gas station with a turret, will have flavored coffees and smoothies, bistro and breakfast sandwiches, a drive-through and seating inside for 40-50 people. WiFi will also be available.
