A National Concrete Cutting crew of Council Bluffs, Iowa, finishes the demolition of the Bartley High School, at the north end of main street Bartley, Nebraska. Shane Benedict, in the excavator, loaded Josh True's dump truck with concrete from the basement. School officials decided to demolish the 90-year-old two-story school house after the new consolidated Southwest Public Schools Junior/Senior High (right) opened three years ago and it would not be not feasible to sell or renovate/reuse the old red brick building. The demolition crew is working between the gym on the east and classrooms on the west, which remain to be used by the school.
