County gets workers comp check

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Red Willow County, Nebraska's workers compensation insurance company presented the county with a $9,022 dividend check during the county commissioners' weekly meeting Monday morning.

Larry Eisenmenger of McCook, representing Employers Mutual, said the check is representative of the county's "excellent loss ratio on workers comp of 0.56 percent. That's not 56 percent -- it's less than 1 percent."

"Your department heads are to be highly commended," Eisenmenger told commissioners. "Your emphasis on safety pays you back."

This is the second time in three years that Eisenmenger has been able to bring commissioners "good news," he said, as the county earned a dividend check worth $8,933 in 2010.
