Cheri Schneider, seventh grade science teacher at the McCook Junior High, tries to stop a "shooter" (portrayed by Craig Loveless of the Nebraska State Patrol) along with John Smith, left, McCook Schools Resource Officer and Jim Stover, bottom, of the Nebraska State Patrol. The practice was part of an "ALICE" (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) workshop at the McCook Junior High, presented by Response Options, a company that provides critical incident response training. Law enforcement agencies, as well as school administrators from McCook, North Platte and Kansas, attended the workshop, that updates and supplements procedures concerning a school shooting.
