BEAVER CITY, Nebraska -- Ruth P. Stalder, 78, of Beaver City, died Tuesday (Nov. 13, 2012), at Cambridge Memorial Hospital at Cambridge, Nebraska.

She was born Feb. 28, 1934, at Beaver City to John G. and Laura (Shackelton) Richard.

She grew up in Beaver City until age 14, when the family moved to several states before settling in California. She graduated from Santa Cruz, California High School in 1952. She married Donald Stalder on Feb.23, 1952 at Santa Cruz, California. Following marriage they moved to Beaver City, where they farmed south of Beaver City until her husband died in 1987. She moved to Beaver City in 1988 and resided there since. She was the cook for the Beaver City Senior Center for several years and was a charter member of Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Beaver City. She was Sunday School teacher, pianist, treasurer, secretary and delegate to annual conference over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mothers, Gladys, Alberta and Naomi; grandson, Brian Brush, and brother,; Alfred, Ray, Floyd and Ted.

Survivors include sons, David Stalder and wife, Marianne of Aliquippa, Pennyslyvania, James Stalder and wife, Martha of Beaver City; daughters, Deborah and husband, Lyndon Gregg of Beaver City, Donita and husband, Leon Brush of Beckley,West Virginia; sisters, Evelyn and husband, Robert Hagemeyer of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Alice Kniggie of Omaha, Nebraska; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Faith Community Church in Beaver City with the Rev. John MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City.

Viewing and visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, from 1 to 7 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and prior to services at the church.
