LINCOLN, Nebraska -- Two McCook, Nebraska, High School students will represent MHS in the 2012 Nebraska Music Educators Association's All-State Chorus and All-State Band Nov. 14-16 on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.

Kelsey Siebrandt, the daughter of Roger and Marti Siebrandt, auditioned as an alto I and will perform with the select chorus directed by Craig Arnold, artistic director and chairman of Manhattan Concert Productions in New York City.

Katelyn Kinne, the daughter of Dawn and Larry Kinne, plays the B-flat clarinet and will perform with the select band directed by Jack Stamp, professor of music, chairperson of the music department and director of band studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Mikayla Packard, a soprano II and the daughter of Rami and Michael Packard, is an alternate for the honor chorus.

Each year, approximately 3,000 Nebraska high school musicians audition for the honor music groups sponsored by the NMEA. A total of 440 students were selected for the honor chorus, and 155 were selected for the honor band.

The choir and band will rehearse Nov. 14-Nov. 16. The NMEA plans a final concert Nov. 16 at the Lied Center for the Performing Arts on the UNL campus.
