STOCKVILLE, Nebraska -- Donald Dale Gugelman of Stockville, 82, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at McCook, Nebraska.

Don was born on Oct. 29, 1929, to Gotlieb and Viola (Swartz) Gugelman at the farm home east of Stockville, where he has lived his entire life. He attended Bailey country school through the eighth grade and then took one semester at Stockville High School. He was inducted into the Army on April 19, 1951. He took his basic training at Fort Hood, Texas, and then went to Germany for two years. He was honorably discharged on March 18, 1953. He married Marilyn Mae Woodring May 24, 1953. To this union five children were born: Cheryl Mae, Debra Jo, Martin Wayne, Steven Dale and Teresa Marie.

Don spent his life operating the farm and raising Black Angus cattle. He was a good diagnostic mechanic and did all his own machinery repair. He sold the farm in the year of 2000 to Homer Houser. At this time he worked for Homer a while then helped at the NRCS office for 12 years.

He was president of the Arbor Cemetery board in Stockville for 31 years. Along with many volunteers from the Stockville community, he kept the cemetery maintained and mowed. He served on the Stockville and Maywood School boards, along with various other boards.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his children: Cheryl (Tim) Teel, Debra (Mark) Shirley, Martin (Christy) Gugelman, Steven Gugelman, and Teresa (Tracy) Gardner; grandchildren: Tiffany Brown, Brett Teel and fiancé Kayla Harm, Laura (Alex) Pollock, Josh Shirley, Casey (Jamie) Gugelman, Kendra (Zach) Robinson, Colyn Gugelman, Noah Gugelman, Brodee Gugelman and Jordan Gardner; eight great grandchildren: Austin Brown, Trey Brown, Jaelyn Brown, Theron Brown, Laura Jo's expected baby (Australia), Cicely Gugelman, Brylee Gugelman and Kenley Gugelman; nieces and nephews: David Gugelman, Darla Starman, Billy Joe Gugelman, Bonnie Schneider, Donnie Woodring, Lynda Molzhan, Dale Woodring, Beverly Kreis, Connie Woodring, and Tammy Cole.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert Gugelman, Robert's wife, Ruth, and his grandson, Rob Brown.

Graveside services will be held at Fort McPherson Cemetery on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 10:30 a.m. A memorial service will be held at Stockville Community Hall at 1:30 p.m. with dinner following.
