(Family Features) With all the things on your morning "to do" list, it might seem challenging enough just to get out the door, never mind eat breakfast. In fact, a recent Morning MealScape study from the NPD Group found that 43 percent of Americans have a morning beverage like a cup of coffee, but don't eat anything until lunch time. However, taking a few minutes to eat right in the morning will help keep you going all day - making that afternoon "to do" list easier to handle.

Start by putting breakfast in perspective. Breakfast provides an opportunity to start fresh and set the tone for your entire day. So treat yourself to a meal that's well-rounded, delicious and will make you feel your best to take on whatever the day brings. If time is a concern, preparing make-ahead breakfasts can make your morning go more smoothly.

Chef Emily Peterson recommends her Omega-3 and Protein-Packed Fresh Herb Breakfast Eggs as a wholesome recipe that can be made in advance. Peterson says, "This recipe can be made for a whole week of breakfast. Just keep the filling and the egg whites separate in the fridge until ready to eat then assemble on demand. Pair them with a piece of fruit and a slice of whole grain toast for a complete, health-conscious breakfast."

Keep the fridge stocked. Keep grab-and-go breakfast options that you can eat on the run or at the office, like yogurt or oatmeal. Items that can be easily paired are ideal as well. The Laughing Cow(r) offers a new line of Smooth Sensations(tm) Cream Cheese Spreads that will turn anyone into a breakfast lover.
