CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee -- Edith Harmon Leamon, age 85, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

She was born Edith Harmon on Dec. 14, 1926, in Dunlap, Tennessee, to Joe Cleveland and Annie Rachel (Standifer) Harmon.

She married Ralph James Leamon on July 30, 1944, in Walker County, Georgia. She spent the rest of her life as a homemaker and lived on their farm for over 66 years. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her delicious coconut cake and strawberry cobbler. She was a lifelong member of Maple Grove Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her sons Billy Ray and Larry; her parents; two grandchildren; her brothers, AB, Eugene, and Junior; her sisters, Ota K, Irene, and Johnnie Mae; three nephews and four nieces.

She is survived by her three sons, Joe "LeBron" Leamon and wife, Theresa of McCook, Nebraska, Troy Leamon of Harrison, Tennessee, and Tracy Leamon and wife, Aletha of Harrison, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Sheila, Mandy, Melanie, Troy Jr., Christopher, Daniel and Hannah; seven great-grandchildren, Ariana, Rhiannon, Preston, Curtis, Kaydence, Brody and Waylen; two sisters-in-law, Judy Harris of Harrison, Tennessee and Barbara Roberson of Hixson, Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home on East Brainerd Rd. in Chattanooga. Viewing will be Friday, Aug. 24 from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be at Old McDonald Cemetery in Ooltewah, Tennessee, following the funeral service.
