Homebuyer education workshop set for August 14, 16

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

McCOOK, Nebraska -- McCook Economic Development Corporation will conduct the next homebuyer education workshop this Tuesday and Thursday Aug. 14 and 16. Class will be held at Keystone Business Center at 402 Norris Avenue, in the 3rd floor training room.

Class coordinator is Mary Kircher, Housing Development Director of MEDC. Mary is encouraging anyone that is looking at purchasing a home in the near future to participate in the class before they start the home buying process. "There is just so much more than writing a purchase agreement to the home buying process. Everyone should know their rights and obligations before they enter into a contract. They should all know what to expect from the professionals they choose as their home buying team as well as know what is going to be expected of them in the transaction," says Kircher.

McCook Economic Development Corporation's homebuyer workshop will fulfill the education requirement for NIFA, USDA, FHLBank, and other government home loans. McCook Economic Development Corporation Purchase Rehab Resell (PRR) and Down payment Assistance (DPA) programs also require attendance at this class.

The cost of the class is $35 per household.

The next homebuyer education class will be Sept. 22, 2012.

For more information, contact Mary Kircher at McCook Economic Development Corporation, 308-345-1200 or email Mary at mary@mccookne.org .
