McCOOK, Nebrsaka -- The latest Linda Maiden State Farm Good Neigh-bear award winner is Leanna Young of McCook. She was nominated by her neighbor, Delores Kathka because "she opens her home to the ladies at Highland Park and others to play games and to watch TV with her. She fixes coffee and snacks for those who come to visit her. She shares her books and magazines with those who enjoy reading. She greets you with a big smile and open arms. She is a very loving person and a great neighbor."

The award comes with a donation to the charity of choice and Kathka selected the Evangelical Free Church building fund as the recipient. Pastor Bruce Lester said that the church is expanding the current facility to accommodate the growing church family.

The Good Neigh-bear Award is a joint effort between Linda Maiden State Farm Insurance and McCook Daily Gazette. Readers are encouraged to nominate a friend, neighbor, relative, or even a stranger who they believe deserves recognition for his or her generosity, helpfulness, and caring nature.
