Higher ambulance fees proposed

McCOOK, Nebraska -- City staff proposed increases to some ambulance fees Monday evening during a budget meeting with the McCook City Council. The increases are estimated to generate $17,000 annually which will be used to finance the purchase of three new defibrillator/cardiac monitors for McCook emergency responders.

The proposed ambulance rate increases are as follows:

Basic Life Support (non-emergency base rate) will remain at $430.

Basic Life Support (emergency base rate) will increase from $575 to $625.

Advanced Life Support (non-emergency base rate) will increase from $685 to $740.

Advanced Life Support (emergency base rate) will remain at $715.

Advanced Life Support (emergency base rate level 2) will increase from $750 to $900.

Specialty care (interfacility) will remain at $750.

Mileage will increase from $14 to $15.

Advanced Life Support Intercept Fee will remain at $100.

Life Flight Air Ambulance Transfer will remain at $200.
