Wendell Peters of P&G Excavation, McCook, Nebraska, dumps brush that he ripped out between three houses to be demolished north of the Red Willow County courthouse in McCook, making way for construction of the county's new $5.1 million, 24-bed jail and law enforcement center. Peters uncovered tile block under the stucco finish of the former beauty shop at 516 Norris, sorting by hand metals that can be recycled. His daughter, Debra Petsch, tied caution tape around the demolition site, asking that people stay off the site for their safety.
