Property valuation protests to be decided

McCOOK, Nebraska -- The Red Willow County Board of Equalization is scheduled to make decisions on property valuation protests that have been filed with the assessor's office, Monday at 1 p.m., as part of their regularly scheduled meeting.

Earlier that morning Assessor Sandra Kotschwar will discuss overvalued, undervalued and omitted properties, as well as a review of cemetery real estate.

Treasurer Marleen Garcia is scheduled to review tax roll corrections and Yanis Helm is on the agenda to request a name change of a county road, 1 Grove Parkway.

Other items on the agenda include the approval of payroll claims and changes to the pledged securities for the county treasurer.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the county commissioner's room of the Red Willow County Courthouse.

  • My friend sold land north of the golf course for $3,300 dollars an acre. It is valued at $340 per acre for tax purposes. I wonder if there are other situations like this in Red Willow County.
