Youth Conservation Program -- Summer job helping build bridge to future
Friday, July 13, 2012
Some very lucky individuals were able to take part in a special pilot program this summer because Senator Brenda Council from Omaha felt it was important to teach youth about our natural resources. A bill (LB549) was passed unanimously by the Legislature in June of 2011 to create this program of sixteen different crews of 12 maximum out across the great state of Nebraska. The funds came from a transfer of cash from the Cash Settlement Fund of the Attorney General's Office. McCook was lucky enough to be a host to one of those crews.
