McCOOK, Nebraska -- A Water Warning issued Friday has been lifted by McCook city officials.
Weekend rains greatly reduced the demand for water, allowing the system to be replenished.
The assistance from the public was greatly appreciated, according to a news release.
Officials noted that on July 6, McCook set a daily pumping record of 5.41 million gallons of water going into the drinking water treatment plant. The previous record was 5,392 on June 5, 2006. The 5.4 million gallons is also the highest daily amount on record since 2000.
