Water warning imposed

Friday, July 6, 2012

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Because McCook has used more than 4 1/2 million gallons of water for five days in a row, city officials have issued a Water Warning, in compliance with municipal code.

When a Water Warning is in place, outdoor water use, including lawn watering, will be allowed only after 6 p.m. and before 10 a.m. each day.

Those found violating the Water Warning are subject to written warnings and additional fees on their water bill.

Water usage will be re-evaluated on Monday to determine if the Water Warning can be lifted, said Jesse Dutcher, utility director for the City of McCook.
