McCOOK, Nebraska -- The Mid-Plains Community College Board of Governors approved a three year employment contract with new college president, Ryan Purdy. Purdy will receive an annual base salary of $155,000 and additional benefits that combine for a total compensation package of $208,792.
That amount represents a 10.3 percent reduction from the previous college president's contract.
The contract was approved Wednesday evening during the board's regularly scheduled meeting in North Platte.
Dr. Jody Tomanek presented the board with a review of the college's nursing program, which included the associate degree program, licensing practical nursing and EMT paramedic programs. Dr. Tomanek reported that if increases in enrollments and graduation trends continues there would be no issues in the future with meeting enrollment thresholds.
The MPCC board of governors also approved changes to the Nebraska Community College Association bylaws, that were submitted by the NCCA board.
The board will meet for a retreat at the Hampton Inn in North Platte on July 9 and then be in McCook for a July 25 meeting at 6:30 p.m.
