OBERLIN, Kansas -- Mary V. Waldo, 83, died Wednesday (June 27, 2012), at Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin, Kansas.

She was born March 2, 1929, at rural Almena, Kansas to Tillman J. "TJ" and Bertha F. (Caster) Eakins Taylor. She was raised in Atwood and Decatur County. She attended Decatur Community High School, graduating in 1947. She married Loyd Waldo on Aug. 3, 1949. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Zeta Nu Club, Calico Gals and Order of Eastern Star.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tillman and Bertha Taylor; husband, Loyd on March 21, 2012; infant daughter, Jeri Dee Waldo, eight siblings, three step-siblings and three half siblings.

Survivors include daughters, Jana and husband, Byron Oliver of Raleigh, North Carolina and Susan and husband, Michael Wright of Lawrence, Kansas; three step-sisters, Dorothy Brown, Ruby Downing and Betty Jean Wicke, all of Atwood, Kansas; and two grandchildren.

Services are Saturday, June 30, 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Oberlin with the Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Interment is at the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
