OBERLIN, Kansas -- Ira E. Kolsky, 85, of Oberlin, died Wednesday (June 27, 2012), at Dodge City, Kansas.

He was born April 11, 1927, in Jennings, Kansas to Joseph and Grace (Spires) Kolsky. He was raised on a farm northwest of Jennings and attending Jennings grade school and high school. He served with the U.S. Marine Corp in the Korean War.

He lived in Jennings, Harrisonville and Stockton, Missouri and Oberlin, Kansas. He was the manager of a Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise in Harrisonville. He was a member of United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Grace Kolsky; wives, Leona Kolsky and Mary Kolsky; stepdaughter, Marlene Johnson; brother, Dallas; sister, Marie Foster and great granddaughter, Kamber Starr Herd.

He is survived by sons, Charles and Jean Kolsky and Robert Kolsky, all of Dodge City; daughters, Paula Herd of St. George, Utah and stepdaughter, Ardith and husband, Dean Lauderback of Oberlin; brother, Gerold Kolsky of Clay Center, Kansas; sisters, Goldie Stapp of Garden City, Kansas and Bettie Janning of Storm Lake, Iowa; four grand children, four step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday, July 2, 2 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Cyd Stein officiating. Interment is at the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is 1 -8 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, 8 a.m. until service time, at Pauls Funeral Home.
