McCOOK, Nebraska -- An Indianola woman was sentenced to serve 150 days in jail and ordered to pay a $500 fine after she was convicted of what was at least her third drunk driving offense. The offender, 24-year-old Destinee D. Sitzman, also had her driver's license revoked for three years during the May 31, 2012, sentencing hearing in Red Willow County Court.

Sitzman was originally cited with DUI (.24) third offense and a second charge of willful reckless driving following a 11:48 p.m. traffic stop at the intersection of 4th Street and the railroad tracks in Indianola. Red Willow County Attorney Paul Wood did not pursue the reckless driving charge and subsequently reduced the drunk driving charge to a second offense as part of a plea agreement in April.

According to court documents Sitzman was convicted of drunk driving in Red Willow County in 2007 and again in Hall County in 2010.

Sitzman was deemed eligible for work release during the jail sentence and also granted permission from the court to be released to her mother to attend a funeral.
