Culbertson CIP discuss new library

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

CULBERTSON, Nebraska --The Culbertson CIP began its May meeting by planting flowers in the barrels in the downtown area. Around 20 community and 4-H members helped with this project and also cleaned up the area around the gazebo.

Following this activity, the Culbertson CIP met at the Bear Cave with six members present.

Culbertson city librarian, Cindy Wagner, spoke with the group about plans to build a new library in Culbertson and asked that the library be part of the Culbertson Community Foundation. Members will check into this, but see no problem with the library being part of the Community Foundation.

Cheri Cooper reported that no progress was made in setting up ball teams for this year. The CIP will try to finish getting the building painted.

The city-wide garage sale was a big success. The group decided to plant a few additional flowers at the Cattle Trail sign and spread out the mums at the gazebo. A stone border will be placed around the flowers at the gazebo. Jeannette Miller was thanked for getting the flowers for the barrels in the downtown area.

The next meeting will be on Monday, June 18. Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting.
