Forced landing
Friday, May 4, 2012
Farmers John and Susan Nelson plant corn around a spray plane that had to make an emergency landing in their field five miles south of Danbury, Nebraska, late Thursday afternoon. The aircraft is from Chester, Iowa, and contracted by Brad Uehlin, owner of Danbury International Airport. Uehlin has two planes in service but had to contract the extra help because of rust problems in the wheat. "This is the worst year we have had with rust in the wheat, due to a mild winter," said pilot Ron Uehlin. The pilot was not injured in the landing. Emergency personal responded to the scene from Decatur County in Kansas and from Beaver Valley in Nebraska.
