Dorothy May Pryor

OBERLIN, Kansas -- Dorothy Mae Pryor, 77, died May 3, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

She was born Dec. 16, 1934, to Benjamin and Edith (Mauthe) Mitchell in Kittanning, Pennsylvania. She was raised in Ford City, Pennsylvania. She lived in Lyndora and Butler, Pennsylvania, and moved to Oberlin in 2000.

She married Paul Pryor on Dec. 15, 1956, in Butler.

She was a resident of Decatur County Good Samaritan Center.

She was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Pennsylvania and Pioneer Baptist Church in Oberlin.

She was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Edith Mitchell; husband, Paul Pryor; daughter, Wanda JoAnn Pryor; brothers,  William, Robert, Richard and John Mitchell; and sisters, Norma Fair and Sara O'Conner.

Survivors include her sons, David Mitchell of Butler and Richard Pryor of Baddock, Pennsylvania, daughters, Linda and husband Steve Smith of North Platte, Nebraska; sister, Nancy Shrecongost of Dayton, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchildren.

Services are Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 2 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin.

Interment is at the Oberlin Cemetery. Memorials may be given in her name.
