Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Jerry and Pat Benson of Westminster, Colorado and Terry Riedel and Charlene Riedel of Denver, Colorado. Grandparents are the late Bethel and Ray Riedel and the late Goldie Barnes and Clarence Barnes.

The bride-to-be works at Cedar Living Center in Oberlin, Kansas.

The prospective bridegroom works at Valmont Industries in McCook.

An Aug. 11, 2012, wedding is planned in Herndon with a reception following at the park.
