NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska -- Kayla Ranae Laird of Hayes Center, Nebraska and Jarrod Arron Thompson of Morton, Illinois, were united in marriage Sept.17, 2011, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in North Platte, Nebraska, with the Rev. Jim Golka officiating.

The bridegroom's parents were married in the same church 25 years earlier.

Parents of the couple are Scott and Patty Laird of Hayes Center and Arron and Mary Jane Thompson of Morton.

Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Ernie Mohr and Glenda Hays of Monticello, Illinois.

Matron of Honor was Kimberly Kunnemann, sister of the bride, of Imperial, Nebraska. Maids of honor were Corrin and Mariah Thompson, sisters of the bridegroom, of Morton.

Bridesmaids were Mary Gohl of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Brittany McConville of Kearney, Nebraska, Kate Graves of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Amy Frecks of Brewster, Nebraska, and Joany Thompson, aunt of the bridegroom, of Monticello.

Lindsey Van Stelton of McCook, Nebraska, was the bride's personal attendant.

The best man was Arron Thompson, father of the bridegroom, of Morton.

Bridegroomsmen were Rodney Thompson, uncle of the bridegroom, of Monticello,Marshall Matherly, uncle of the bridegroom, of Fair Grove, Missouri, Mitch Popadziuk of Morton, Stephen Sheller of San Marcos, Texas, Kalen Thompson, cousin of the bridegroom, of San Luis Obispo, California, Seth Kunnemann. brother-in-law of the bridegroom, of Imperial and Camden Kunnemann, nephew of the bride, of Imperial.

The flower girl was Hayley Thompson and the ring bearer was Sawyer Thompson, both of Decatur, Illinois.

Ushers were Dustin Harper, cousin of the bride, of Golden, Colorado, Brad Harper, cousin of the bride, of Morton, Jeff Villegas, cousin of the bride, of McCook, Kyle Thompson, cousin of the bridegroom, of Sullivan, Illinois and Kris Thompson, cousin of the bridegroom, of Decatur.

Candlelighters were Santana Lewis of Kansas City, Missouri, Easton Lewis of Kansas City and Ashley Tetan of Auburn, Nebraska, all cousins of the bride.

Guestbook and program attendants were Aimee Hazlitt of McCook and Brockelle Thompson of Peoria, Illinois, cousins of the bridegroom.

The vocalist was Ashley Greenhaw of Aurora, Colorado.

The reception was at the Sandhills Convention Center in North Platte. Reception hostesses were Janet and Jerry Rucker of Arvada, Colorado, Rita and Don Steinke of Superior, Colorado and Kathy Knepp of Auburn, all aunts and uncles of the bride.

The bride graduated from Hayes Center High School and attended McCook Community College and the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She is a marketing coordinator at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

The bridegroom attended Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois and is a sales manager at Childer's.

Following the wedding, the couple took a western Caribbean cruise.

The couple lives in Morton with their dogs, Beef and Cheddar.
