Piecemakers Quilt Guild will display quilts in May

McCOOK, Nebraska -- The Piecemakers Quilt Guild met at Our Saviors Lutheran Church on April 13, 2012.

Connie Olsen gave a lesson on making a placemat table topper that could be used for special occasions using different focus fabric.

There were 17 members present.

Most of the afternoon business meeting was spent discussing May Guest Day. It will be at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on May 4, 2012. This is a special day that the public is invited to see the guild's quilts displayed.

Doors open at 10:30. A free lunch is provided for all that attend. The speakers for this year's presentation are Diane Sorensen and Sue Boyer. Their topic will be "The Preservation of Quilts for the Home."

There was also discussion about participating in the quilt show that McCook Art Guild is hosting this year.

The hostesses for the meeting were Margaret Skraback and Beryl Knotwell.

The next meeting will be May 4, 2012. Anyone interested in quilting is welcome to attend.
