Jan. 16, 1930 - April 13, 2012

IRVING, Texas -- Dorothy Bess Jones Ditterline went to be with her two best friends; her Lord and her husband, Bob Ditterline, on Friday, April 13, 2012.

She was born in DeSoto, Texas on Jan.16, 1930. Dorothy was a loving wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved being a Methodist minister's wife and enjoyed making a home wherever the Lord took them -- in McCook, Nebraska, New Mexico and Texas.

When her earthly best friend left to be with the Lord in 2008, Dorothy came to live in Whitney, Texas to be close to family. She was a resident of Country Club Retirement Center and later Town Hall Estates.

She is survived by a sister, Ann and husband, Ted Goodman of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a son, Gary Wayne Ditterline of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a daughter, Sheri and husband Randy Hayes of Whitney, Texas; a granddaughter, Chelsei and husband Noah Vigil of Waco, Texas; a great granddaughter, Madison Cambria Vigil of Waco; "adopted" daughter Mary Husa of Irving; "adopted" son, Jed Powell of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday, April 19 at First United Methodist Church, Main Sanctuary, 211 W. Third Street in Irving. Burial will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas.

Visitation was today at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home in Irving.

Brown's Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
