Also pictured is Teresa Ruppert, left, Riley's nominating teacher. Riley maintains a 3.8 GPA and is involved in football, basketball and track as well as FFA, FCCLA, National Honor Society and band. The "MNB Student of the Month Award" is designed to recognize one area student, every month from September through April, for their accomplishments and hard work. Academics, extracurricular school activities, as well as other community activities are all factors in determining a winner. The award is open to area juniors and nominations for the award must be submitted by area teachers, guidance counselors, or administrative staff of the student's school to be considered. As seniors, those eight individual monthly winners will be eligible to apply for one of two $500 tuition scholarships. MNB will host a reception for the eight monthly winners and their families each spring and announce the two scholarship winners at that time.
